The Antichrist

Welcome back, beautiful family!

Picking back up with our previous conversations, we’re going to explore the Antichrist.

First, to start out, let me say first and foremost, the Antichrist is not Jesus, but the world will, for the most part, believe that he is. The Church (true born again believers and children) will be gone, and the Antichrist will appear on the world stage since the Holy Spirit will no longer be restraining him. The Antichrist will be a counterfeit Jesus.

Considering that Satan tries to do everything God does, there is basically a mirror of the Holy Trinity during the End Times, but again, like the Antichrist it is counterfeit. As one of my Bible teachers named it the Unholy Trinity. This union will be made up of Satan (counterfeit God), the Antichrist (counterfeit Jesus), and the False Prophet (counterfeit Holy Spirit). They will claim to be the true Holy Trinity, but are most definitely not.

What does the Word say about the Antichrist (AC)? Quite a bit actually throughout multiple books of the Bible. So let’s explore together.

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction. –2 Thessalonians 2:3 As I mentioned previously, I do believe that in the chaos that will ensue following the Rapture of the Church, people will be desperate for an explanation and to feel secure again, and I believe this is precisely when the AC will step in, seemingly with all the solutions needed.

The coming of the lawless one is based on Satan’s working, with all kinds of false miracles, signs, and wonders, and with every unrighteous deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth in order to be saved. – 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10

The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart,: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords – Psalms 55:22. The AC will be charismatic and charming, but it will all be an act. He is not genuine. I believe there has been an AC spirit throughout history, think of people like Hitler. He was able to convince people of heinous ideas all because he was charismatic and seemed to be leading with the best intentions of bringing Germany out of the ruins of WWI, but he was doing anything but. The AC is going to be able to draw people in and convince them easily that he has their best intentions in his hands. However, it could not be possibly further from the truth. Everything that the AC does is going to be deceitful:

Once this covenant (the one AC is going to make with Israel at the start of the Tribulation period) is broken: After an alliance is made with him, he will act deceitfully. – Daniel 11:23

There is speculation that for the first 3.5 years of the Tribulation period that the AC’s intentions and actions may seem pretty genuine, but that is going to be fully exposed at the 3.5 year mark:

Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way. For that day will not come unless the apostasy comes first and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction. He opposes and exalts himself above every so called god or object of worship, so that he sits in God’s sanctuary, publicizing that he himself is God. – 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4

He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and a half of time (3.5 years) – Daniel 7:25

He had put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. – Psalms 55:20

The AC is also referred to as a beast: The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon (Satan) gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority – Revelation 13:12

The AC will be the world leader: It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over ever tribe, people, language, and nation. – Revelation 13:7 Again, just like what Jesus will actually do after the Tribulation period when the Millennial Kingdom starts with Jesus as King over the entire world.

And that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming. – 2 Thessalonians 2:8

So we have a pretty good vision of what the Antichrist is going to be doing – misleading and deceiving everyone that is still on the earth during the Tribulation period. There will be a significant number of people, Jews especially, who will not fall for the AC. But the AC will be after them, seeking to destroy them. He will not succeed.

We’re going to be taking a look further into the Tribulation next post.

Until then, beloved.
